FOZ Car Takes to the Track
Anticipation is the word that comes to mind when thinking back to the long winter months waiting to actually get this car on track. The feeling of anticipation only intensified when the car's twin, the Spike Chassis midget, stole the show at the Chili Bowl with Tracy Hines chauffering it to a commanding win. "This is without a doubt the best mini-sprint I have ever driven. I really loved my Doemelt, but this thing is even better," commented Scott Fasse. Fasse got the first crack at driving the new creation during the Indiana Nationals. Fasse said, "The car was flawless. We had a few driver errors, that I would rather not discuss, but the car was great. I've never felt a car hunker down the way it does and then leap off the corners." The FOZ made it into the competitive field of 42 cars both nights. "The first night we started in the back and made it as high as sixth place when we stopped to avoid an accident. We were sent to the back and were making our way back through the field when I clipped an infield tire ending our night. On Saturday we started the feature towards the back of the pack and finished 11th." Another FOZ Race Car is being campaigned in Colorado by Rob Wilkerson and has already recorded two top five finishes. Wilkerson claims the difference between his old car and the FOZ is the difference between a Model T and a Cadillac. Wilkerson's father Jim says that he is amazed how much attention the car is getting at the tracks they attend.
